- Blue Bridge over Kentucky River, Carrollton, Kentucky

Please be advised that construction work on the Kentucky River Bridge will begin on
Friday, August 20,2010. Traffic signals will be installed aod the bridge will operate one
lane until the completion of the project. The contractor is required to utilize flaggers to
assist with the heavy traffic flow during peak times in the morning and afternoon. The
project is scheduled to be completed in 10 calendar days. Hopefully, weather permitting,
the timeframe will be shorter.
- The Veteran's Health Clinic is now open for business. It is located at 1911 Hwy 227, Carrollton. A very nice facility for our Veterans!
- Progress is being made in securing property for the Jefferson Community and Technical College expansion.
- Carroll County received $120,000 in Emergency Road Aid funds to replace the Lewis Road Bridge.
- In conjunction with USDA Natural Resources and Conservation Service, Carroll County has spent $1,255,616 in watershed projects. The County has been reimbursed $940,951.53 through USDA NRCS and has applied for a State Participation grant to recoup the additional $235,000.
- Carroll County has recently been awarded several Homeland Security grants:
$25,222 grant for mobile data computers for the Sheriff's Office
$77,217 grant for communications upgrade for the Sheriff's Office
$63,000 grant for dispatch center upgrades
- The Northern KY Area Development District has assisted Carroll County with applying for an energy efficiency grant through the State of Kentucky to upgrade the heating and cooling systems in the Courthouse. We are currently waiting for an announcement regarding the success of the application.
- Carroll County Fiscal Court has been awarded a $65,500 Recreational Trails grant that would be used to connect the county park, Carrollton's city park and General Butler State Resort Park via land and water trails.
- Carroll County Fiscal Court has been awarded a $186,622 Transportation Enhancement grant that will replace sidewalks, add landscaping, lighting and interpretive signage on the history of Carrollton to the four block area that bounds the Courthouse.
