Carroll County Animal Shelter is currently equipped for housing stray dogs and puppies only.
The facility does not house cats at this time.
Carroll County is assisted by Carroll County Animal Support, a local volunteer group, for adoptions from the shelter and also contracts with the Kentucky Humane Society in Louisville for any dogs not adopted at the local level.
A license is required by ordinance of all dogs over six months of age. The cost for the license is $5.00 and they are renewed every July 1st. You may obtain a license at the County Judge/Executive's office on the 2nd Floor of the Courthouse or you may print and complete the form below, enclose $5 and mail to Carroll County Judge/Executive's Office, 440 Main Street, Carrollton, KY 41008. We will gladly mail your license to you.
